    Group: (2x2โˆ’x2)+(3x+5x)+(โˆ’4)=x2+8xโˆ’4(2x^2 - x^2) + (3x + 5x) + (-4) = x^2 + 8x - 4.

    Note: x2x^2 and xx are NOT like terms.

Only terms with the same variable AND the same exponent are like terms. x2x^2 and xx cannot be combined.
