Balance Principle Math Example 4
Follow the full solution, then compare it with the other examples linked below.
Example 4
mediumSolve \(\frac{x}{4} + 3 = 10\).
Solution
- 1 Subtract 3 from both sides: \(\frac{x}{4} = 7\).
- 2 Multiply both sides by 4: \(x = 28\).
- 3 Check: \(28/4 + 3 = 7 + 3 = 10\) โ
Answer
\(x = 28\)
Undo addition (subtract 3), then undo division (multiply by 4). \(x = 28\).
